About the Foundation
The K-9 Mission Impawsible Foundation exists because agency budgets stop where mission demands keep going.
Our Story
K-9 Mission Impawsible Foundation was founded in 2026 by Michael Marshowsky, a retired K-9 handler with the City of Elko Police Department whose career has been defined by service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to working dogs.
During his 27-year career with the Elko Police Department, Mike spent 10 years as a K-9 handler, partnering with two exceptional police dogs throughout his career—a dual-purpose patrol and narcotics detection K-9 and an explosives detection K-9. Together, they served the community through countless deployments, searches, and public safety missions, building the unique bond that only exists between a handler and their K-9 partner.
Mike is recognized as a Master Trainer through the American Society of Canine Trainers and has helped shape the future of police K-9 programs across Nevada. As a member of the committee that established the Nevada POST K-9 Standards, he played an important role in developing statewide certification standards that continue to ensure excellence, professionalism, and accountability among law enforcement K-9 teams.
Throughout his career, Mike witnessed firsthand the extraordinary capabilities of working dogs—and the financial challenges agencies often face in providing them with the specialized equipment, advanced training, K-9 welfare, and resources they deserve. Those experiences inspired a vision that would become K-9 Mission Impawsible Foundation.
Today, the Foundation exists to support law enforcement and public service K-9 teams by helping bridge the gap where traditional budgets often fall short. Through community partnerships, fundraising, grants, and sponsorships, Mike's vision is to ensure that every working K-9 has access to the equipment, training, and welfare support necessary to safely serve and protect our communities.

More than a partner, Django was a trusted teammate, protector, and loyal friend who faithfully served the City of Elko with courage and unwavering dedication. Their bond reflected the extraordinary relationship shared between every K-9 handler and their dog—a partnership built on trust, sacrifice, and an unspoken understanding.
Django’s legacy lives on through the mission of K-9 Mission Impawsible Foundation, inspiring our commitment to supporting the next generation of working K-9 teams and honoring every dog that serves alongside those who protect our communities.

Mike Marshowsky
Founder & President
Founder of K-9 Mission Impawsible. Provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the Foundation, chairs the Board of Directors, oversees organizational initiatives, and serves as the primary representative to law enforcement agencies, public safety partners, and the community.
Laura Marshowsky
Vice President
Supports the President in advancing the Foundation's mission, assists with strategic planning and board leadership, and serves in the President's absence when needed. She also cultivates relationships with community organizations, businesses, volunteers, sponsors, and civic leaders, leading outreach efforts that increase public awareness, community engagement, and support for the Foundation's mission.
Breanna Keil
Treasurer
Serves as the Foundation's Treasurer, responsible for the prudent management of charitable assets, financial recordkeeping, budgeting oversight, and transparent financial reporting in support of the Foundation's mission.
Tyrone Minton
Secretary & COO
Oversees the Foundation's day-to-day operations, event planning, volunteer coordination, logistics, vendor relationships, equipment management, and operational execution, while maintaining official corporate records, meeting minutes, and board communications to ensure programs and initiatives are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Bill Bauer
Senior K-9 Technical Advisor
Serves as the Foundation's senior subject matter expert on K-9 operations, training, standards, and program development. Drawing on his extensive experience and foundational involvement in the local K-9 program, Bill provides technical guidance to the Board, evaluates operational needs, and advises on equipment, training, and infrastructure initiatives. As a voting member of the Board of Directors, he contributes to strategic decisions and helps ensure Foundation initiatives remain aligned with the practical needs of working K-9 teams.
Brianne Minton
Chief Strategy & Development Officer
Leads the Foundation's long-term strategic growth by overseeing organizational development, fundraising, grant strategy, corporate partnerships, branding, marketing, communications, technology, and digital initiatives. Responsible for building sustainable systems, strengthening community engagement, and advancing the Foundation's mission through strategic planning and innovation.
Crystal Cowles-Roselund
Fundraising & Events Coordinator
Plans and coordinates the Foundation's fundraising campaigns and community events, supporting donor engagement, event logistics, sponsor recognition, and volunteer involvement that advance the Foundation's mission.
Board Meetings & Community Involvement
Board meetings are open to the public. Anyone is welcome to sit in, see how the Foundation makes its decisions, and learn where support goes.
We also encourage community involvement beyond the meeting room. Whether you want to volunteer your time, host or sponsor a fundraiser, bring a business partnership to the table, or simply stay informed about what working K-9 teams in our region need, there is a place for you here.
